A wide variety of mental health problems have been helped with
nutritional approach. These include depression, anxiety, bipolar
disorder, mental breakdown, ADHD, fatigue, autism and age
related memory decline.
Effects of appropriate nutritional diagnosis and treatment
The accurate correction of nutritional imbalances can only make the
individual stronger. Creativity and personality are not
compromised, but rather, tend to be fostered by the enhancement
of general health.
As an e.g., one can imagine a novelist who converses intensely
with her characters. Her best friend worries that she might be on
the verge of a breakdown. He gives her some biochemical tests,
and finds, specifically, that she is pyloric (pyloria is characterized by
the urinary excretion of needed Vitamin B6 and zinc).
She is given Vitamin B6, zinc and manganese, and told to increase
the dosage under stress. Several months later, she still talks to
her characters, but has more energy, is less frantic, and no longer
feels nauseous every morning. Her book is almost done, and her
physical health is better than before.
Perhaps she would never have had a breakdown. In any case
Orthomolecular treatment caught deficiencies which might have
undermined the functioning of her thyroid, liver and digestive
system, as well as her brain.
With Laboratory testing these deficiences can be found and
corrected, so that lives are no longer compromised.
